Larae Booker

I am a proven and mission-driven communication leader and strategist with 15+ years experience helping organizations communicate for impact and elevate their brands.

 

I love to tell an organization’s story from the top, whether preparing senior executives to deliver keynote addresses, crafting corporate messages or acting as an organizational spokesperson. My gift is quickly grasping the essence of big issues and translating them into simple but compelling messages that hit home with audiences—from members of a board to members of the media.

Having held speechwriting, communication and public affairs positions across the nonprofit, public and private sectors, no industry is too challenging, no topic too nuanced, for me to create content that enlightens, inspires or sparks change.

​

A Pittsburgh, Pa. native based in the Washington, D.C. metro, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Communication from the New York University (NYU) Steinhardt School of Media, Culture and Communication and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communication from the Ohio University College of Communication. Building, developing, and leading talented teams is a joy of mine, and I have invested in my continued development as a people leader.

I also have a longstanding commitment to philanthropy, community involvement and public service. I am an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Previously, I served on the Regional Advisory Board of Reading Partners DC and the leadership team of the United Way of the National Capital Area’s Young Philanthropists Society. I was competitively selected as a Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government Fellow and a Coro Center for Civic Leadership Community Problem-Solving Fellow.
